Location: This position is located in the Atlanta area and will travel to customerlocations throughout the Atlanta area to install and service equipment.
Travel outsidethe Atlanta area to service other customers or training is expected to be 20% or less.
Reports to:Service Manager Shared Services Special & New Technologies
Standard Schedule:Schedule varies and may include early mornings evenings latenights and weekend work.
Employees may be required to be away from home two weeks at a time if installing equipment outside the Atlanta area.
FLSA Status: Nonexempt/Hourly
Compensation: $27 $46 per hour
Job Responsibility: TheField Service Technician ElectroMechanical (Mechatronics) Digital travels to customer locations to install maintain upgrade troubleshoot diagnose and repair mechanical electronic and electrical components on Koenig & Bauer Digital Presses. The Service Technician interacts directly with the customer listening to their needs and asking probing questions in preparation for the installation or service call and must be able to effectively communicate technical information and resolutions to customers with varying degrees of technical knowledge and abilities. The Service Technician must come up with the plan of action to address the customer issue with an emphasis on quality work (fix it right the first time) and efficiency to minimize installation or downtime and to control costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GEDequivalent required; but posthigh school degree or certification in technical field preferred including but not limited to printing industrial/plant maintenance or automotive production/service.
Experience:Minimum three to five year related work experience in printing press manufacturing industrial/plant maintenance automotive production/service or other related technical field.
Computer Skills: Experience with OS2; Microsoft Windows; programming and networking; extensive use of various proprietary software and programming tools; basic use of email internet navigation word processing and spreadsheets.
Physical Demands of Job:
Nearly 25% travel with consecutive overnight stays mostly domestic air travel with some international travel for training or special assignments. Must be able to navigate through airports and board aircrafts. Must hold a valid drivers license and be able to drive for long periods of time (5 8 hours in some cases). Continuous (more than 5.6 hours daily) standing working with hands and fingers and exposure to dust fumes and machinery noise in press rooms required. Frequent (2.6 to 5.5 hours daily) bending/stooping pushing pulling and changes to temperature. Regular use of hand and power tools both basic and specialized tools including but not limited to wrenches ratchets sockets pliers hammer screw drivers grinder drill motor hydraulic jacks pallet jacks hex keys OEM special tools files pin punches 6side cutters snap ring pliers scrapers and pin puller. Heavy lifting including lifting a traveling toolbox with wheels with an estimated weight of 40 to 80 pounds. Daily use of computer to keep necessary reports and records and retrieve necessary information.
