Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and manage a broad portfolio of mid to large commercial property accounts with a focus on quality profitability and longterm growth.
- Analyze complex risk submissions develop tailored solutions and make sound decisions within established authority levels.
- Serve as a key point of contact for broker relationships negotiating terms and developing strategic partnerships to support business objectives.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including claims actuarial legal and risk engineering to ensure robust risk assessments and endtoend client solutions.
- Monitor portfolio performance identify market trends and contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and best practices.
- Support the development of junior underwriters through mentorship training and technical guidance.
- Represent the underwriting team in internal initiatives client meetings and marketfacing activities.
- 57 years of progressive experience in commercial property underwriting with a strong understanding of the Canadian market.
- Proven ability to assess complex risks and structure competitive and profitable insurance solutions.
- Strong negotiation communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
- Analytical thinker with a proactive mindset and ability to balance risk management with commercial outcomes.
- Knowledge of current market conditions emerging trends and regulatory frameworks in Canada.
- Postsecondary education in business finance or a related field; professional insurance designation (e.g. CIP FCIP) is an asset.
- Bilingual (English/French) capabilities are a plus.
- Some travel may be required.
