Job Title: MultiCraft Pipefitter

Reports To: MultiCraft Pipefitter Foreman

Summary: At Cherokee Millwright we are a multicraft company that focuses on the needs of our customers by providing multitrades personnel to meet the customers unique job requests. Therefore all field employees will be crosstrained in various trades such as millwrighting pipefitting welding sheet metal civil etc. The focus of this position will be in lay out assemble install and maintain pipe systems pipe supports and related equipment for steam hot water heating cooling lubricating compressed air and industrial production and processing systems. However it will not be entirely set to this specific skillset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Cut thread and hammer pipe to specifications using tools such as saws cutting torches pipe threaders and benders.
2. Assemble and secure pipes tubes fittings and related equipment according to specifications by welding brazing cementing soldering and threading joints.
3. Attach pipes to walls structures and fixtures such as radiators or tanks using brackets clams tools or welding equipment.
4. Inspect examine and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauge hydrostatic testing observation or other methods.
5. Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
6. Plan pipe system layout installation or repair according to specifications.
7. Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers need and will be expected in this role.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
