DescriptionJob Summary:The Regional Anatomic Pathology (AP) Quality Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and standardizing when possible the AP Laboratory quality program across the Atrium Health Wake Forest Region. Through effective leadership the Quality Coordinator serves as a resource for laboratory quality and process improvement. This role is responsible for collecting coordinating and analyzing data for routine reporting for AP pathologists and when needed the AP Laboratory Sections to look for trends and opportunities for process improvement. Further this role will serve as an internal consultant and a resource for quality metrics and process improvement across the region. This role will utilize laboratory expertise to proactively oversee the quality program to ensure compliance with WFBMC mission and values policies/procedures and internal/external regulatory bodies including but not limited to CAP CLIA FDA AABB OSHA and the Joint Commission.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution or bachelors degree in a Chemical Physical or biological science required.
- Five years clinical laboratory experience required.
LICENSURE CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION:
- ASCP required.
- Specialty certification preferred.
How Youll Impact Patient Care:
Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate financial analysis and reporting including business plans financial statements cost analysis and more.
- Analyze results identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance operations. Support process redesign.
- Recommend and implement policies procedures and strategies to streamline workflow and achieve organizational goals.
- Assist in preparing the departments annual budget.
- Develop and implement financial management systems cost accounting systems and policies. Analyze transactions for potential issues.
- Evaluate best practices and cost containment measures to improve patient care or administrative services while maintaining efficiency and generating revenue.
- Meet with management to understand and anticipate business needs and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with management to establish new programs performance metrics and goals aligned with organizational standards.
- Create expense monitoring tools and provide training to end users for reporting purposes.
- Manage assigned special projects as directed by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
