We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to serve as the Performing Arts Theatre Teacher Leader. In this role you will provide leadership and coordination for theatre programs across our state and district. You will collaborate closely with theatre teachers and district teams to plan organize and promote events share important communications and support the development of curriculum and instructional resources.
WSD Theatre Events:
- Support all WSD theatre teachers in planning and organizing theatrerelated performing arts events.
- Collaborate with theatre teachers to set goals develop event themes coordinate logistics and allocate resources effectively.
- Facilitate regular team meetings offering guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of events.
- Assist theatre teachers with event planning tasks including budgeting compliance with WSD policies and achieving desired outcomes.
Information Distribution:
- Maintain clear communication channels with theatre teachers to ensure that timely and relevant information is shared.
- Distribute updates on upcoming theatre events workshops training opportunities and other relevant resources to teachers via various communication platforms (email newsletters websites etc.).
- Respond promptly to inquiries from teachers addressing concerns and providing necessary assistance.
- Help create distribute and maintain a districtwide theatre event calendar for WSD.
Curriculum and Resource Development:
- Lead district teams in developing comprehensive curriculum and instructional resources for theatre education.
- Collaborate with district teams to identify curriculum gaps develop learning objectives and create engaging and innovative teaching materials for theatre programs.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in theatre education integrating new approaches and strategies into the curriculum.
- Continue and promote the districts work in developing vertical alignment of core theatre skills across grade levels.
Professional Development:
- Organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for theatre teachers.
- Coordinate workshops seminars and training sessions to enhance teachers skills knowledge and pedagogical practices in theatre education while aligning with USBE Performing Arts Standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting collaboration and knowledgesharing among theatre teachers.
Qualifications:
- Valid Utah Secondary Education Teaching License.
- Extensive experience in theatre education including planning and organizing events.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with teachers district teams and committee members.
- Knowledge of curriculum development principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Uptodate knowledge of industry trends best practices and emerging technologies in theatre education.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
