Job Title: MDML Student Project Assistant Stacks Organization
Reports to: Head Librarian
Hour of work: 20 hours
Hourly Rate: $16.20

Position Summary:
The student in this position will primarily work on a project to shelf read several targeted highly used score collection areas of the Music Library. Ensuring that the music scores in these sections are in proper order and easily accessible will enhance the browsing and discoverability of materials at the start of the academic year a key period for students selecting repertoire for study and performance. Other tasks including shelf shifting in identified areas will also be related to improving collection accessibility.
The student may be required to open and/or close the Music Library perform emergency evacuation procedures and perform other supplementary tasks as assigned.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
Excellent knowledge of music and music materials preferably with some formal training. Knowledge of music score and recording formats. Demonstrated organizational skills attention to detail and ability to clearly transmit and receive information. Demonstrated ability to cope with physical requirements: handling carrying and lifting of library materials. Previous library or similar experience preferred. English: spoken read and written. French: spoken and read. McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where daytoday duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) on a scale of 04. Other languages an asset.
