Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate daytoday operations of the longterm care site to ensure effective service delivery and resident care.

  • Staff Leadership and Supervision: Provide leadership to site staff including hiring orientation scheduling performance management and professional development.

  • Team Development: Establish goals conduct performance evaluations and support ongoing training and development initiatives.

  • Program Oversight: Lead program planning quality improvement initiatives and evaluation of care services to ensure high standards of resident care.

  • Policy and Standards Implementation: Interpret and implement policies procedures and standards related to resident care and ensure compliance across the unit.

  • Clinical Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and external departments to support seamless residentcentered care.

  • Budget Management: Monitor the unit budget and allocate resources effectively to remain within budgetary constraints.

  • ResidentCentered Clinical Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of resident treatment plans perform comprehensive nursing assessments and participate in case conferences.

  • Clinical Supervision: Act as a clinical resource and provide ongoing guidance to the multidisciplinary team fostering collaboration and ensuring continuity of care

What You Bring

Education
  • Registered Nurse with current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • A Baccalaureate in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing is required along with the qualifications required of a staff nurse in the clinical area.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience in clinical areas including three (3) years of recent experience in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education training and experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and scope of nursing practice and relevant rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Demonstrated leadership skill and ability to organize oversee and evaluate function of a team.
  • Ability to use evidencebased practice to develop and implement standards of practice that guide work practices and quality and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership mentoring coaching facilitation and team building skills.
  • Demonstrated fiscal planning and administration skills.
  • Ability to develop prioritize and accomplish objectives.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events and make decisions.
  • Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies and take corrective action.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to operate related equipment including computers.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position

Your DaytoDay:

  • Oversee the delivery of highquality resident care by supervising staff coordinating assignments and developing schedules.

  • Monitor unit performance resident outcomes and safety standards identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

  • Lead staff performance management including setting goals conducting evaluations addressing performance concerns and supporting attendance management.

  • Manage employee relations issues and support the resolution of grievances in collaboration with the Operations Manager and HR.

  • Approve and coordinate staff leaves vacation planning and scheduling changes; ensure timekeeping records are accurate and up to date.

  • Lead case conferences care planning and provide direct clinical supervision and support to the interdisciplinary team.

  • Identify staff training needs and coordinate educational plans with the Nurse Educator including delivering inservice education.

  • Participate in recruitment interviewing and hiring decisions for unit positions; contribute to workforce planning.

  • Drive program planning development evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

  • Monitor and manage the unit budget ensuring responsible allocation of staffing supplies and equipment.

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of resident treatment plans and conduct comprehensive clinical assessments.

  • Support staff with clinical interventions and problemsolving for complex cases promoting collaboration and continuity of care.

  • Lead incident reporting track patterns and initiate safety and quality improvement measures.

  • Represent the program on PHC and regional committees contributing clinical insight and advocating for clientfocused improvements.

  • Maintain records track outcomes and stay informed on current trends through education peer engagement and professional development.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support site operations and resident care.
