Primary Purpose:
Perform onsite technical work to install and maintain computer equipment software applications and classroom audiovisual (AV) systems throughout the district. Respond to work order requests by diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and AV equipment. Provide training to staff at the campus level.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associates degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of computer workstation setup
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
- Ability to install maintain and repair desktops laptops and local peripherals.
- Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to audiovisual equipment.
Experience:
- Two years of work experience installing maintaining and repairing computers and peripherals.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Technical Support
- Install configure and service desktop systems laptop systems document cameras and projectors
- Install configure and service Operating System software that includes Windows 10 Professional
- Install configure and service the districts applications software including MS Office 2016
- Relocate computer hardware peripherals and equipment as needed.
- Respond to work order requests in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service.
- Provide excellent customer service with followup/follow through techniques
- Provide technical support both oral and written to other campus based technicians and District Technology technicians.
- Perform quality assurance checks on inventory of campus technology equipment
- Assist in satisfying state/national technology initiatives (STaR Chart TELPAS NCLB Administrative SelfAssessment High School EOC etc.)
- Assist staff and users with logins passwords and username issues.
Classroom Audio Visual (AV) Support
- Install configure and maintain classroom AV equipment including interactive flat panels projectors ceiling speakers and related control systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with AV devices such as no display audio problems connectivity issues and calibration errors
- Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for warranty repairs and advanced troubleshooting of AV equipment
- Train staff on the proper use and basic troubleshooting of classroom AV systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and firmware updates on AV equipment
- Document all AVrelated incidents and resolutions in the districts work order system
Training
- Attend district staff development training Instructional Technology training District Technology meetings
- Share effective technical strategies with teachers for the effective use of technology in the classroom.
Inventory and Maintenance
- Perform quality assurance checks on inventory of campus technology equipment
- Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate updated records of preventive maintenance for computers and peripherals such as document cameras and projectors.
Safety
- Operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting climbing and carrying.
- Ensure the classrooms instructional labs and administrative offices are clean and safe environments
- Comply with incident management policies and procedures
Other
- Respond to afterhours emergencies as needed.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policies.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Equipment Used:
Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations.
Personal computers and peripherals including Smartboards document cameras and printers.

Factors:
Climbing stooping bending and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools and electronic test equipment; prolonged use of computer. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. May be required to be oncall 24 hours a day.
