Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Greenwich to assist with the appointment of a Personal Advisor on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 18.3023.05/Hour
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive effective working relationships with young people eligible for leaving care services.
- Assess young peoples needs and contribute to the creation and review of Pathway Plans.
- Coordinate support services and ensure that young people are connected with appropriate education training housing and employment opportunities.
- Provide advice on financial capability including welfare rights and budgeting.
- Act as an advocate for young people and assist with applications interviews and other transitional processes.
Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in social care youth work or a related discipline is desirable.
- Knowledge of the legal and policy framework for care leavers including The Children Act 1989 Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010 and Planning Transition for Adulthood for Care Leavers 2011.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage young people.
- Knowledge of housing education employment and financial support systems.
Experience:
- Experience working with vulnerable young people particularly those in or leaving care.
- Experience with multiagency working and case management.
Please note:
- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires an Enhanced DBS
