Overview

Kelemen 8 is a medicalsurgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses illnesses and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges.

Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an antiroom.

There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team including the patient and family.

Short Description

  • Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) assists with patients activities of daily living and plan of care.
  • Communicates with and supports healthcare team patients and/or patients family or significant other(s).
  • Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.

Experience Required

  • 1 year or more patient care experience in a similar role.

Education Requirements

  • Completed at least one fundamental nursing course in an accredited RN Program
  • Successful completion of an unlicensed health care provider/ technician program
  • High school diploma/GED

License/Certification Requirements

  • AHA Basic Life Support certification
