Job Description

TRANSPORTATIONSUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications from Wednesday May 7 2025 through Friday May 16 2025 for Temporary Summer Employment in our Transportation Department.

Bus Drivers (29)

  • Current SPS Bus Drivers receive current hourly rate;
  • Requires Class B Commercial Drivers License and Oregon Department of Education School Bus Drivers Certificate;
  • Routes run June 16August 29 2025 (dates vary depending on the route);
  • Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.

Type10 Van Drivers (4)

  • Current SPS Van Drivers receive current hourly rate;
  • Requires ODE Type10 Certificate prior to the start of the route (training and testing on site);
  • Routes run July;
  • Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.

Bus Detailers (2)

  • $18.12/hour (40hours per week (MTh);
  • 2 positions from June 16 August 22 2025.

Transportation Bus Assistants (10)

  • Current SPS EAs will be paid their current hourly rate;
  • All other SPS employees or nonSPS employees$18.12 per hour;
  • Routes run from July 7August 29 2025 variable hours;
  • Hours and number of days depends on route assigned and are subject to change/cancellation without notice.
