The Case Manager will provide direct support and wraparound services to justiceinvolved individuals transitioning from incarceration back into the community. This role will focus on reducing recidivism improving access to employment housing behavioral health and other key reintegration services for Ingram State Technical College student population.
Listed below are the primary responsibilities of this position; however the Director of Reentry Services and the Dean of Students or his/her designee may assign other professional duties to meet the Colleges needs.
Grant Funded Position
Caseload Management
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the case management database in compliance with grant and Reentry program requirements.
Maintain regular contact with clients through inperson meetings phone checkins and community visits.
Track and report client progress and program outcomes to ensure alignment with performance measures.
Provide case management for participants at specified intervals to assist in the continued prevention and elimination of barriers to successful employment and life transition.
Needs Assessment and Evaluation
Conduct intake assessments with returning citizens to identify needs goals and service gaps.
Evaluate the needs of individuals identify potential barriers and connect them with relevant resources such as housing employment education and treatment services.
Coordinate referrals to communitybased services such as housing job training mental health and substance use treatment education and family reunification.
Connect clients with appropriate resources such as financial assistance recovery services mental health treatment housing employment and healthcare.
Community and Partner Engagement
Solicit and recruit community partners profit/nonprofit organizations and support resources in assigned regional areas including social service agencies correctional facilities and other organizations to support the various needs for reentry student populations.
Conducting needs assessments and research to identify local and national opportunities for partnership outreach and engagement.
Oversee the planning development and implementation of community service programs and events for ISTC.
Serve as the primary pointofcontact between ISTCs Reentry Program and ADOCs Classification and Reentry Divisions.
Training and Facilitation
Design and facilitate relevant training sessions community meetings and professional development events.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of program services.
Correctional Education Advocacy
Collaborate directly with ADOC leadership parole/probation officers and other stakeholders.
Represent ISTC at community and partner events and meetings.
KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work within a correctional environment specifically ADOC.
Ability to design and facilitate life skills courses and training programs.
Ability to establish a collaborative network of internal and external partners including ADOC to provide post release services for ISTC students entering the reentry program.
Excellent interpersonal problem solving decision making and team building skills which lead to logical decisions.
Experience with daytoday operations of a busy multiservice office including supervision evaluation mentoring and monitoring of students.
Ability to travel throughout the state of Alabama.
Sensitivity to the educational and personal needs of a diverse student body.Required:
Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and one year of fulltime wageearning case processing case management social services criminal justice or human services experience.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel across assigned Alabama region
Ability to pass a background check (some history may be allowable depending on position requirements).
Minimum two (2) years of fulltime experience with special population student incarcerated case management reentry services or working with justiceinvolved populations /Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) experience is strongly.
Knowledge of community resources and reentry programs is essential.
Strong communication interpersonal and advocacy skills are crucial.
