Job Title: Executive Director of Intercultural & Global Office

Summary of Position: The Executive Director of the Intercultural and Global Office (IGO) provides ongoing leadership and support for students of the IWUMarion campus. Through collaboration with institutional leadership staff and faculty the role advances the continuous development of a culturally responsive Christcentered learning community. The Executive Director leads support efforts for Kingdom diversity for all students plus those of international origin and of third culture backgrounds. This leader coordinates cocurricular experiences and programs in collaboration with academics athletics admissions residence life and student government to integrate Kingdom diversity and intercultural programming for the IWUMarion campus context of the University.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Student Advocacy and Engagement
- Advocate for all students served by IWUMarion from diverse cultural backgrounds on matters related to their academic success social development and sense of belonging in the campus community
- Consult with students studentled groups/organizations faculty and staff on matters related to cultural awareness and responsiveness
- Develop cocurricular intercultural programming events on campus that raise awareness of cultural and global issues from a biblically grounded and theologically sound perspective
- Collaborate with admissions/enrollment marketing athletics and academics to shape domestic international or multicultural student recruitment and retention efforts
- Represent the Intercultural & Global Office during designated campus visit days and/or New Student Orientation
- Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise professional staff (IGO) and their duties and responsibilities
- Supervise student workers such as the Intercultural Ambassadors graduate assistants and front desk workers or assign to designee
- Conduct or assign to designee semester evaluations for student leaders
- Plan and evaluate events and initiatives provided by and with IGO
- Strategic Planning and Institutional Alignment
- Oversee efforts to conceptualize define assess and cultivate intercultural integration and the university mission and values as institutional and Kingdom imperatives with guidance from the Office of People & Culture
- Participate in teams focused on retention student thriving and the student experience
- Serve on IWU committees as designated by the EVP and Chief People & Culture Officer
- Steward budgets facilities and resources in ways that advance IWUs mission and its intercultural and global vision
- Partnership and Collaboration
- Partner as liaison with volunteers and leaders (on campus) who serve in conjunction with IGO
- Positively represent IWU and the Intercultural & Global Office at events on and off campus especially regarding the Marion/Grant County community
- Work with IGO staff Marketing departments and divisions to maintain strategic communication for programs within the office and oversee official social media sites (Instagram and Facebook) to ensure cohesive branding messaging and recruitment strategies
- Budget and Resource Management
- Manage and plan program budgets to ensure that all related business/financial policies and procedures are being implemented
- Development and Contribution
- Research stay current and be competent related to intercultural student services (i.e. attend conferences maintain memberships review books articles and journals etc.)
- Support the policies and lifestyle standards of the University as outlined in the Student Handbook and University Catalog. Maintain a professional image/manner consistent with the Universitys mission vision and core values
- Teach and/or mentor in pathway programs (pending need and approval by relevant academic leaders)

Education - Masters degree in intercultural studies education leadership social work counseling or related field required
- Bachelors degree accepted with minimum of three (3) years of experience in field
Experience - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple administrative tasks effectively and efficiently and able to delegate responsibilities to others
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
- Minimum of three (3) years working in higher education
Required Skills - Knowledgeable and experienced in the areas of Kingdom diversity spiritual formation student thriving retention belonging and reconciliation
- Well organized and able to effectively manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently and able to delegate responsibilities to others
- Personable hospitable and strong people skills
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills
- Experienced in working in a university culture
- Experience working with diverse student groups
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and date management skills
- Works well as part of a team and values collaboration and consensus
- Maintains a strong work ethic with strengths in communication collaboration consistency and Christlikeness
- Demonstrated ability to set and accomplish personal and professional goals
