Position Function:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Transportation who is responsible for the daytoday management administration planning development and program implementation within MSU Transportation.
Salary Grade:18

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daytoday management of transportation operations.
2. Supervises staff responsible for providing parking and transit services. Participates in the selection process of staff performance management and training.
3. Provides and/or facilitates specialized support to high level administrative executive and external constituents upon request.
4. Responsible for investigating and resolving customer inquiries and complaints and interpretation of policies rules and regulations. Follows up and provides timely solutions and/or feedback.
5. Develops submits for approval and implements departmental policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. Assists in the development of grant proposals.
6. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with outside vendors contractors and university departments.
7. Develops and implements short and longterm work plans for the individual functional areas of transportation including but not limited to events and marketing.
8. Recommend and implement ways to improve the services and efficiency of Transportation.
9. Responsible for the collection analysis and documentation of data of Transportation.
10. Provides input and assistance with budget planning and development.
11. Represents the Executive Director of Transportation as needed and assigned.
12. Performs related duties as assigned.

2. Knowledge in transportation and transit system operation safety and management
3. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
4. Experience in conflict resolution negotiation and diplomacy

1. Job experience beyond the minimum requirements
2. Knowledge of T2 systems parking management or similar software
3. Certified Administrator or Public Parking (CAPP) or Certified Public Facility Manager (CPFM).

2. Proficient in the use of personal computers and software applications
3. Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management

5. Skill in examining and reengineering operations and procedures formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
6. Knowledge of alternate transportation programs
7. Knowledge of project management with ability to develop plan and implement short and longrange goals.
8. Leadership skills with ability to effectively coordinate multiple institutional programs and initiatives.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Physical Requirements:
Externally imposed deadlines set and revised beyond ones control are frequent; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days. Irregular hours may be anticipated: meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position. Job requires standing walking sitting reaching talking hearing handling objects with hands and lifting 10 pounds. Requires ability to see information in print and/or electronically. Heavy telephone contact requires the ability to hear and respond to telephone conversations.
