Jenks Public Schools Job Description

Position: Counseling Office Administrative Assistant

Reports to: High School Principal

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Demonstrate ability to use oral and written communication effectively.
  3. Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute.
  4. Computer and clerical skills required.
  5. Good interpersonal skills with students and adults.
  6. Satisfy all district requirements with regards to physical health and citizenship.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goals: To assist in the daily operation of the High School office and effectively maintain High School records.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Help with counter and telephones.
  2. Take phonee messages for Building 6 teachers and counselors.
  3. Process new student IDs.
  4. Collect and deposit money for lost textbooks and transcripts.
  5. Assist other administrative assistants as needed.
  6. Assist customers with information regarding District and High School programs.
  7. Make Back to School Night arrangements.
  8. Assign lockers and maintain locker assignment lists.
  9. Schedule parent/teacher conferences and parent preenrollment conferences.
  10. Assist with enrollment of students in the fall.
  11. Assist with selling activity passes.
  12. Assist with activity accounts.
  13. Assist with school records maintenance student enrollments and student withdrawals.
  14. Lead coordinate or assist with testing.
  15. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Ten (10) month classified hourly contract

FLSA Qualification: NonExempt

Physical Demands:

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop kneel crouch; lift/move up to 20 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close color peripheral depth perception ability to adjust focus.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
