Position Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the Human Resources and Payroll department providing technical and administrative support. Duties may include compiling and analyzing data coordination multiple concurrent activities and interacting with individuals at all levels in the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential technical and administrative support as related to Human Resources related policies procedures and practices in addition to welldeveloped clerical skills.
  • Support in updating HR database and processing employees requests.
  • Process HR documents such as new hire documents
  • Assist in payroll reporting
  • Coordinate HR projects and meetings
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal communications
  • Exemplary organization skills
  • Emphasis on customer services
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with preparation and distribution of system wide communication on HR related topics
  • Researches analyzes data and prepares quarterly reports on HR topics and current program goals and progress.
  • Competencies: Business Acumen Communication Consultation Critical Evaluation HR Expertise
  • Coordinates and performs management training such as interviewing hiring terminations promotions performance review safety and sexual harassment to build management capability within the organization.
  • Works to resolve issues within scope of experience to advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues; uses sound judgement and escalates matters when appropriate to the VP of HR.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documents for approval by VP of HR.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies procedures and programs.
  • Assists with local staffing according to company policy and procedures.
  • Directs and facilitates the execution of onboarding orientation and off boarding meetings.
  • Maintains HRMS data integrity and prepares weekly payroll for home office payroll processing.
  • Computes wages and records data for use in payroll processing.
  • Updates employee efiles and sends supporting documentation to home office.
  • Maintains local employee files and periodically audits employees files kept at the branch.
  • Provides information contained within the employee files to authorized persons.
  • Compiles data from personnel records and prepares local management reports.
  • Prepares and files reports of accidents and injuries.
  • Administer 401(k) plan
  • Support Our Foundation Values in the stated areas of Safety Customer Focus Teamwork Integrity and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Hands on experience with HR Software like ADP Workforce Now and others
  • Previous experience as a Human Resource Specialist 10 years
  • Any combination of education and experience related to college level work or experience in Human Resources
  • Proficient in ADP Workforce Now Microsoft Word PowerPoint and intermediate to advance knowledge of Excel in creating spreadsheets and database management tools.

Requirements

  • After receipt of conditional offer of employment must be able to pass drug screen/physical/background check.
