Job Description
Overview:
The Boston Public Library is seeking applicants for a part time position in the Charlestown Branch. Mature dependable individuals are invited to apply. Daytime evening and weekend hours are available depending upon the needs of the department. Knowledge of one or more foreign languages is desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Sorting verifying shifting and checking in materials.
- Shelving materials.
- Retrieving and routing items from shelves.
- Answering basic questions and referring to other staff as appropriate.
- Operating equipment such as photocopiers microfilm readers printers and scanners.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Residency Must be a resident of the City of Boston upon the first day of hire.
- CORI Must successfully clear a Criminal Offenders Record Information check with the City of Boston.
Terms:
Union/Salary Plan/Grade: Nonunion/$15 per hour
Hours per week: Up to 18 hours per week
