Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Art and Design at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a fulltime temporary (nontenurable) faculty position (#122100) at the rank of lecturer for graphic design. This is a oneyear temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding demonstrated need and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1 2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite on the Mac OS platform particularly InDesign Illustrator and Photoshop. In addition the successful candidate must also exhibit knowledge of contemporary design practice typographic design theory and history.
Required Education
An MFA or MA with a graphic design emphasis or a BFA with a graphic design emphasis and two (2) years of professional or industry experience in the graphic design field gained through fulltime employment or freelance work is required by the appointment receive experience credit for fulltime freelance work applicants must list each project including the projects length on their CVs.
Other Desirables
Applicants with two (2) years of teaching experience will receive special consideration.
