Amazon WW R&R is comprised of business product operational program software engineering and data teams that manage the life of a returned or damaged product from a customer to the warehouse and on to its next best use. Our work is broad and deep: we train machine learning models to automate routing and find signals to optimize reuse; we invent new channels to give products a second life; we develop worldclass product support to help customers love what they buy; we pilot smarter product evaluations; we work from the customer backward to find ways to make the return experience remarkably delightful and easy; and we do it all while scrutinizing our business with laser focus.

As a leader on the team you will be expected to operate at all levels diving deep into the details while providing strategic inputs for the product. You will be a key player in driving strategic planning project execution hiring and development of engineering talent driving operational excellence and shaping up the solutions to achieve our vision. Key job responsibilities
Lead an engineering team that will build operate and maintain software in order to meet business needs
Hire coach and mentor individuals
Interface with a diverse customer base to understand requirements priorities and processes
Propose and implement new projects or recommend system improvements
Own all operational metrics and support
Help develop longterm development and business technology strategies

Candidates for this role must have:
9 years of experience in Software development
5 years as a Development Manager managing teams of 10 engineers
Strong business and technical vision
Experience in development of distributed/scalable systems and highvolume transaction applications
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
Previous demonstrated project management success on highvolume webbased applications projects
Deep understanding of system architecture and OO Design and experience with large distributed and online transactional systems
International experience or knowledge of additional languages is highly desired

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of engineering experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers
