Bestship is a Service Provider for the shipping industry focusing on Performance and Compliance Management as well as Technical Project Management. We are based in Hamburg Germany. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Project Manager (m/f/d) for our Project Management Team in Hamburg Germany. You will take charge of various maritime projects ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion. Your expertise will drive energy efficiency and vessel optimization while meeting strict budgets timelines and quality benchmarks.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
- Endtoend management of vessel upgrade projects including energysaving initiatives and general enhancements.
- Collaborate with ship owners technical managers external vendors and internal teams to define project scopes and objectives.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans define scope monitor progress and keep track of cost to ensure ontime and onbudget delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with industry safety and quality standards and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments resolve issues proactively and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster clear communication among all stakeholders providing regular updates on project progress and performance.
- Stay ahead of industry trends implement best practices and contribute to the companys culture of excellence.
- Contribute towards achievement of annual business targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering marine engineering or naval architecture or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience preferably in the shipping or maritime industry.
Mandatory requirements
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
- Proactive motivated team player being able to overview and prioritize.
- Very good computer skills in all Microsoft applications able to adapt to company software. (Proficient in project management software and tools.)
- Understanding of international maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Service oriented with high client focus.
- Excellent communication skills and a very good command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Additional preferences
- PMP certification or equivalent
- Preferable good contacts with vendors/ yards and marine industry players.
- Practical experiences from working on board of seagoing (container) vessels
