Salary: $100000 (based on experience)
Title: Intermediate Mechanical Engineer Ottawa (Onsite)
Were currently working with one of our trusted engineering consulting clients to find an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Ottawa team. This is a fulltime onsite position suited for someone who thrives in a handson collaborative office setting and is looking to deepen their project leadership experience.
What youd be doing in this role
This is a key intermediatelevel role for someone with 410 years of experience. Youll take ownership of smaller projects and lead portions of larger ones with responsibilities including:
Designing and analyzing building mechanical systems (HVAC fire protection etc.)
Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment selection
Coordinating with architects structural electrical and other disciplines
Applying building codes and standards appropriately to design and documentation
Creating technical reports drawings and specifications
Integrating sustainability and energy efficiency into your designs
Taking part in project planning budgeting and client meetings
Representing the firm in meetings and managing small project teams
Mentoring junior engineers as needed
Youre a match if you have
A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
. designation (licensed in Ontario)
Between 410 years of relevant experience in building systems design
Proficiency with AutoCAD Excel Adobe PDF and mechanical engineering tools
Solid understanding of building codes and engineering best practices
Strong communication and coordination skills
The ability to take initiative and manage multiple moving parts
