You willenthusiastically represent the organization by displaying a positive attitude and a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. This role is responsible for developing and evaluating the implementation of educational programming tours and animal related experiences. Additionally you will:

  • Be responsible for supervising daily operations of an education team which could consist of tours programs and/or camps. These assignments may rotate based on business needs.
  • Be responsible for the overall direction and development of products.
  • Develop maintain and monitor revenue and labor budgets and profitability goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere which ensures the highest level of ambassador performance and guest service while enforcing and complying with safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Supervise train and coach ambassadors while ensuring proper training and development in accordance with SEA guidelines.
  • Ensure an open line of dialogue with leadership when documentation of an ambassador may be warranted.
  • Learn programming and educational content to assist with operational needs
  • Encourage and demonstrate confidentiality and professional communication internally and with all departments that interact with the Education department.
  • Comply with area opening and closing procedures and ensures all ambassadors complete tasks within a timely manner.
  • Assist department in other duties as assigned.


What it takes to succeed:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Bachelors degree in a related filed or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in educational programming
  • Must have a valid Florida Drivers License and must be able to meet companys driving requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a valid DOT physical card.
  • Prior knowledge of industry standards of interpretation conservation messaging and graphics
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and curriculum development
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Enthusiastic confident changeagent with ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment under aggressive timelines with a positive attitude.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of computer/Windows software.
  • Maintain accurate training records in compliance with legal and company retention guidelines for all department employees.
  • Provide performance feedback during training sessions; Provide ongoing feedback to leadership regarding development needs of employees.
  • Regularly conduct audits to ensure ambassadors understanding of standard operating procedures.

What else is important:

  • Must be able to stand walk and work for prolonged periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekdays weekends evenings overnights and holidays.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits including but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Must be willing to comply with and ensure ambassadors comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
