The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a fulltime temporary (nontenurable) faculty position (#712010) at the rank of lecturer. This is a oneyear temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding demonstrated need and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The start date for the appointment is August 1 2025.
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses in music business with a focus on survey of the recording industry music publishing music licensing and all related subjects.
A masters degree in recording industry music or a closely related field or a bachelors degree in recording industry music or a closely related field with two (2) years of fulltime recording industry professional work experience is required by the appointment date.
Four (4) years of fulltime recording industry professional work experience is required. To receive experience credit for fulltime freelance work applicants must list each project including the projects length specifying the months worked on their CVs.
Applicants with experience teaching collegelevel courses and curriculum development; evidence of strong music industry relationships; proficiency with presentation technology; and experience with online and remote course delivery tools will receive special consideration.
