What youll be doing
As a Manager Sanctions Advisory you will be reporting to and supporting the Director Sanctions Advisory by serving as a subject matter expert providing guidance to various CIBC Strategic Business Units (including but not limited to Personal and Business Banking Corporate Banking Capital Markets Global Trade and Banking etc.) and Functional Groups (including but not limited to other units within the Sanctions Team AML Advisory andFinancial Intelligence Unit) (SBUs and FGs are jointly referred to as Business Units or BUs) on various aspects of sanctions compliance as they may be involved in customer relationships transactions or vendor relationships across the regions of CIBC presence.
The Manager Sanctions Advisory will provide guidance to Business Units on the interpretation and application of the Enterprise Sanctions Policy and the Enterprise Sanctions Standard and maintaining their currency; maintaining currency of Sanctions Advisorys internal procedures; opining on sanctions compliancerelated warranties representations and covenants in transaction documentation or other internal documents and regulatory filings. Additional responsibilities include reviewing BUs procedures for alignment with requirements of the Enterprise Sanctions Policy and the Enterprise Sanctions Standard;monitoring for reviewing and assessing the impact of sanctionsrelated legislative and regulatory developments and emerging risks; and conducting analysis of sanctions lists employed by CIBC to identify any gaps; contributing to maintaining of Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM)related processes and initiatives. The Manager will also contribute to developing maintaining and facilitating sanctions compliance trainingrelated processes; supporting Examinations and Audit in their reviews of the Sanctions Team; performing other tasks as requested by the Director Sanctions Advisory.

Who you are
You have a Bachelors degree in Law International Affairs Political Science or related field and have a sound general understanding of the Canadian legal system.
You have a minimum of 2years in performing sanctions compliance related functions preferably in the financial or consulting industries including an indepth expertise in at a minimum the U.S. and Canadian sanctions laws and regulations.
You have a strong working knowledge of the banking industry banks structure and organization products operations and systems including sanctions screening systems and tools. You have the ability to appropriately assess the application of sanctions regulatory requirements to customer relationships and transactions.
You have a strong working knowledge of customer and transaction KYC and duediligence tools and systems including but not limited to WorldCheck Dow Jones Risk Database and Dow Jones Factiva Orbis/BvD or other equivalent tools.
You are familiar with banks Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) related requirements and controls specific to sanctions compliance.
You have strong research analytical report writing risk assessment organizational and project management skills.
You have advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel Access Visio Project and PowerPoint.
