Job Description
The Field Service Team is dedicated to resolving consumer quality field issues in a timely fashion at the lowest cost to Fortune Brands. We are seeking a highly skilled and customerfocused Field Service Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in software development kits (SDKs) APIs and wireless communication technologies such as WiFi ZWave and Bluetooth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing onsite technical support troubleshooting installation and maintenance for our consumerconnected products. The role requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software with the ability to ensure seamless operation and integration of connected devices.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Install configure and test consumerconnected products at customer sites ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and connectivity issues related to WiFi ZWave and Bluetooth communication protocols.
- Provide onsite customer support addressing technical inquiries and guiding clients through product setup and usage.
- Provide training to customers on the operation of connected products and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understand our software development kits (SDKs) and APIs to troubleshoot integration and customized solutions for clients.
- Collaborate with internal development teams to ensure smooth integration between hardware and software for seamless user experiences.
- Document field service activities including customer interactions troubleshooting steps resolutions and maintenance performed.
- Provide detailed feedback on product performance usability and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a deep understanding of wireless communication technologies including WiFi ZWave and Bluetooth and their applications in consumer devices.
- Stay current with industry trends new technologies and product innovations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service engineer role preferably in consumer electronics or IoT devices.
- Handson experience working with SDKs APIs and custom software solutions for consumer products.
- Proficiency in WiFi ZWave and Bluetooth technologies for device communication and integration.
- Ability and willingness to travel 1020% of the time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- General construction knowledge
- Hubspot reporting and tracking proficiency
- Ability to use ERP systems
Additional Information :
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $63000 $110000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
