Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated compassionate and detailoriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This position provides a meaningful opportunity to support individuals experiencing opioid use disorder through professional nursing care particularly during early morning hours and Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and dispense medication for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) according to New Jersey State and Federal regulations under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Director.
- Accurately document medication administration vital signs and patient interactions in patient records.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs promptly reporting any significant changes or concerns to the RN or Medical Director.
- Provide patient education regarding medication administration potential side effects and adherence to treatment plans.
- Perform initial intake screenings and collect pertinent medical information to assist RN or Medical Director assessments.
- Prepare and administer onsite TB skin tests and vaccinations as directed by the RN or Medical Director.
- Provide basic wound care and first aid responding appropriately to emergencies and assisting in patient referrals as necessary.
- Support ongoing clinical operations including preparation and maintenance of clinical areas and medical supplies.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Coordinate schedules and appointments for patients collaborating with case managers to ensure cohesive care management.
- Act as liaison between patients clinical staff and case managers to facilitate timely and effective communication regarding patient care plans and scheduling needs.
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of New Jersey (required).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team environment.
- Experience in substance use treatment or behavioral health preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately document clinical information and patient interactions.
Schedule:
- Fulltime position
- Requires availability for early morning hours and Saturdays
