Job Description

Salary Range: Dependent on Experience (DOE)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consults with physicians and/or supervisors to determine treatment plan.
  • Plans and performs physical therapy for neurologically and physically impaired clients including soft tissue mobilization joint mobilization gait training and muscle reeducation through corrective exercises.
  • Schedules and administers evaluations; conducts home assessments for equipment needs; and performs school consultations to establish school directed activities such as standing programs.
  • Administers tests such as manual muscle tests joint range of motion reflex testing postural assessment gait analysis and functional mobility.
  • Attends appropriate clinics management meetings and case conferences to discuss client status.
  • Instructs clients family members and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and equipment needs.
  • Observes evaluates and records clients treatment reactions and progress and reports changes to physician.
  • Counsels and refers clients to vocational rehabilitation programs for further testing and training.
  • Evaluates and orders appropriate mobility equipment and orthotic devices as prescribed.
  • Assists in training and overseeing therapy aides in the treatment of clients.
  • Instructs patients in pain management injury prevention posture correction and body mechanics.
  • Provides inpatient services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of direct work experience.

Education:

  • Masters Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
  • Active unrestricted Physical Therapist State License in any U.S. State or Territory.
