ESSENTIAL DUTIES FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consults with physicians and/or supervisors to determine treatment plan.
- Plans and performs physical therapy for neurologically and physically impaired clients including soft tissue mobilization joint mobilization gait training and muscle reeducation through corrective exercises.
- Schedules and administers evaluations; conducts home assessments for equipment needs; and performs school consultations to establish school directed activities such as standing programs.
- Administers tests such as manual muscle tests joint range of motion reflex testing postural assessment gait analysis and functional mobility.
- Attends appropriate clinics management meetings and case conferences to discuss client status.
- Instructs clients family members and caregivers regarding home exercise programs and equipment needs.
- Observes evaluates and records clients treatment reactions and progress and reports changes to physician.
- Counsels and refers clients to vocational rehabilitation programs for further testing and training.
- Evaluates and orders appropriate mobility equipment and orthotic devices as prescribed.
- Assists in training and overseeing therapy aides in the treatment of clients.
- Instructs patients in pain management injury prevention posture correction and body mechanics.
- Provides inpatient services.
- Performs other duties as assigned
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Three (3) years of direct work experience.
Education:
- Masters Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
- Active unrestricted Physical Therapist State License in any U.S. State or Territory.
