TransporterX org within Amazons Last Mile Technology is focused on revolutionizing the final stage of delivery operations. Our mission is to create perfect delivery experiences by empowering transporters Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) operators and shippers with innovative technological solutions. We build systems that enable efficient defectfree operations while minimizing cognitive and physical workload for all ecosystem participants.
OnRoad Execution Team is responsible for managing itinerary lifecycle of the transporters. In 2024 we managed itineraries of over 1.45M transporters and helped deliver 10B packages at 1.7B delivery locations WW. We are evolving our architecture and expanding our systems to seamlessly support rapidly growing business needs.
We are seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our engineering team. As a key member of this team you will be solving complex problems and working on difficult challenges in software engineering that will shape how delivery evolves here at Amazon. Key job responsibilities
* Design develop and maintain scalable backend services to support itinerary management systems serving millions of transporters worldwide
* Build and optimize highperformance APIs and microservices that handle realtime itinerary updates and delivery data processing
* Implement robust error handling monitoring and logging systems to ensure reliable operation of critical delivery management services
* Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions that improve scalability reliability and performance
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while maintaining service level agreements
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
