Actuary

Boston MA Hybrid (3 days in office)

Our client a respected mutual insurance company with a strong legacy and collaborative culture is seeking a seasoned actuary to serve as a strategic advisor and highfunctioning individual contributor. Reporting directly to the Chief Actuary the Actuary will influence key areas of the business including pricing reserving and enterprise risk management. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of analytics and strategy helping shape business decisions in a flat crossfunctional organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing and reserving efforts including quarterly reserve reviews and rate indications for specific personal and commercial lines products across multiple states.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional partners in underwriting marketing and executive leadership to influence product strategy business planning and reinsurance evaluations.
• Serve as a mentor and senior peer within the actuarial department supporting junior team members and exemplifying technical excellence and sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and approximately 1020 years of property & casualty actuarial experience.
• Proficiency in pricing reserving and rate review work; handson experience with tools such as ResQ Akur8 and DataRobot is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex actuarial analyses into actionable business insights; collaborative mindset with a strategic perspective.
