Albany Law School seeks a fulltime or visiting professor to teach Introduction to Lawyering a sixcredit firstyear course for the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters. Visiting faculty will be eligible to apply for a permanent tenuretrack or a longterm contract position to begin in theacademic year. Appointments will be at the rank of assistant associate or full professor and may be appointed on a tenuretrack or longterm contract depending on experience. The professor will be expected to teach one or two sections of Introduction to Lawyering each semester. Each section of Lawyering averages 20 students. In this course students represent a client throughout two semesters and learn basic lawyering skills including client interviewing and counseling negotiation analytical skills oral advocacy and research and writing skills by producing legal documents needed to represent the client.

Qualifications Candidates are required to have a JD from an ABAaccredited institution. A record of or potential for high quality teaching and a commitment to student mentoring and professional development are should have a superior academic record and at least three years of professional experience either in practice or in teaching legal research and writing or the equivalent.
Compensation The estimated salary range for this position is $90000$120000 per year plus comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be based on the successful candidates relevant experience knowledge skills and abilities and in consideration of internal equity.
