Job Description

Job Title: Finance Manager
Organization: HERO House NW
Location: HERO House Bellevue
Employment Type: FullTime
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

With a passionate team of approximately 25 staff we strive to improve mental health outcomes and quality of life for our members. We are looking for a detailoriented and missiondriven Finance Manager to join our team and support our continued growth and sustainability.


Position Summary:
The Finance Manager is a key member of our leadership team responsible for managing the organizations financial operations. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting supports strategic planning and provides timely insights to inform decisionmaking. This individual will be responsible for budgeting financial reporting grant compliance and ensuring financial sustainability. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and a passion for social impact. The Finance Manager works closely with the CEO and collaborates with program colleagues members and staff to align financial management with the organizations mission and goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly financial reviews with the CEO
  • Manage and reconcile organization credit cards
  • Process and record all deposits accurately and in a timely manner
  • Conduct class reviews to ensure proper allocation and tracking of expenses
  • Lead annual and ongoing budgeting processes in collaboration with leadership
  • Proactively monitor and manage cash flow to ensure organizational stability
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors
  • Oversee and process twice monthly payroll in coordination with HR
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards
  • Ensure timely completion of audits and assist with grant reporting as needed
  • Develop and improve financial policies procedures and internal controls
  • Support other financerelated tasks and projects as assigned
  • Manage all insurance policies
  • Carry out guidelines of board approved investment policies
  • Lead monthly Finance Committee meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in nonprofit financial management or accounting
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles (GAAP fund accounting)
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll systems and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail analytical skills and organizational ability
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively
  • Commitment to the mission and values of HERO House NW

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $85000 DOE
