Job Description

POSITION: Title I Parent Liaison

LOCATION: Casa Grande Union High School

REPORTS TO: Principal /Director of Federal Programs

JOB GOAL:

To assist the Principal in providing assistance to students staff teachers parents and community members by providing information support and other services; referring families to other agencies; and fostering an ongoing partnership between the home and school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications to perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required to be successful:

  • Solid communication skills with students and adults
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Proficiency with use of technology for communication
  • Ability to speak in large and small groups
  • Knowledge of school programs
  • Knowledge of resources available on school campus
  • Ability to work independently

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan and facilitate parent forums.
  • Make contact with community resources.
  • Create awareness of opportunities for parents and community to interact with the school.
  • Actively engage with the leadership and staff on site.
  • Greet parents and community visiting school site.
  • Contribute to the welcoming atmosphere at the school site when on campus.
  • Be the first line of communication for parents with questions about the school and about struggles they may be having understanding how the school functions.
  • Direct parents and community members to the proper personnel to address their issues.
  • Collect data to inform parental involvement initiatives for the school site.
  • Provide a voice for the parents and community on the site leadership teams and directly to the site administration.
  • Weekly communications with Federal Programs office of school planning/calendars.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Contracted grant funded hourly fulltime 40 hour work week 9 month employment. This is a nonexempt position.
  • Must pass Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint clearance check.
  • Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa (if necessary) will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I9 documentation prior to first day of work.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  • Proof of Mumps Measles and Rubella (MMR) vaccination.
  • Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications official transcripts will be due upon job offer*

* Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.
