Colorado Mental Health Institute Fort Logan is adding new forensic treatment units to the hospital specifically for those courtordered to receive inpatient competency evaluation and/or restoration. Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan (CMHHIFL) is one of two state hospitals serving our community. The vision of CMHHIFL is to provide the highest quality mental health services to person with complex serious and persistent mental health illness within the resources available. Our mission is to support those individuals in achieving their recovery goals and reaching their full potential. CMHHIFL provides inpatient treatment to adult patient generally between the ages of 1849. The hospital has 94 adult inpatient beds over four treatment units and is scheduled to open an additional 44 beds (two units) in August 2022. These two forensic units will be dedicated to providing psychiatric stabilization and restoration treatment to individuals opined incompetent to proceed as a result of their mental illness. Medical servicesoccupational therapy neuropsychologicalrehabilitation services and traumainformed care services are available for all patients throughout the hospital.
The Nurse Manager works in tandem with other Nurse Managers and under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Nursing multiple levels of professional services as care is coordinated across a continuum. The Unit Nurse Manager adheres to and references the professional codes of conduct regulatory agency standards the Nurse Practice Act State Board of Nursing professional codes of ethics and scope of discipline practice guides to ensure various levels of nursing personnel function within their scope of practice. The Unit Nurse Manager is responsible for communicating implementing and clarifying nursing policies at the unit level as well as developing and implementing performance improvements at the unit level along with procedures at the unit level. Participates in and prepares nursing personnel for onsite surveys monitors documentation and ensures quality of care is rendered according to the State Board of Nursing The Joint Commission Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Colorado Department Personnel Rules and Regulations.
The Unit Nurse Manager for this position will have the knowledge skills and abilities to work with the behavioral health population on this unit by providing a positive and supportive environment for patients to work towards meeting goals and milestones that are aligned with the treatment plans and plan of care.

Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
Current valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
AND
Four years (4) of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
Professional Nursing Experience is defined as work experience as a Registered Nurse. Your application must clearly state your experience at this level; statements such as see resume or nursing duties will not be accepted
Substitutions:
Appropriate education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a yearforyear basis
