Brief description of duties:The Head Football Coach is responsible for developing and leading a competitive and characterdriven football program. This role includes planning and conducting practices supervising studentathletes promoting sportsmanship ensuring player safety and fostering academic accountability. The coach will serve as a mentor to studentathletes and promote school and district values both on and off the field.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan organize and lead daily practices workouts and team meetings.
Develop and implement offensive and defensive strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.
Supervise assistant coaches and delegate responsibilities to support program success.
Promote safety by enforcing proper techniques maintaining equipment and adhering to athletic training protocols.
Maintain high expectations for sportsmanship discipline and academic performance.
Monitor the academic eligibility and behavior of studentathletes in accordance with school and district policies.
Coordinate with the Athletic Director for game scheduling transportation field usage and equipment needs.
Communicate regularly with parents teachers and administration regarding team activities and individual student progress.
Ensure compliance with all district school and TMSAA (Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association) regulations.
Conduct preseason interest meetings and coordinate tryouts in an equitable and transparent manner.
Serve as a role model for studentathletes in behavior appearance and commitment.
Special skills qualifications or education:Prior coaching experience (football) at the middle or high school level preferred.
Knowledge of football fundamentals game rules and player development techniques.
Ability to lead and motivate students in a positive respectful manner.
