What does a successful Senior Linux Engineer do at Fiserv

In this role you will play a crucial role in managing automating and securing our Linux platforms. Your expertise withRed Hat Identity Management (IDM) Satellite and Ansible Automation Platformwill be key in maintaining compliance streamlining patch management and driving automation across our infrastructure.

What you will do:

• Develop and refineautomation scriptsfor Linux system administration using Bash Python Perl and Ansible
• Managepatching and lifecycle automationof Red Hat Enterprise Linux usingRed Hat Satelliteand Ansible Automation Platform
• Implement and maintainIdentity Management (IdM) solutions including access policies centralized authentication and integration with Active Directory
• Ensure compliance byresearching and remediating vulnerabilitiesacross Linux environments and applyserver hardening best practices leveraging CIS benchmarks and Red Hat security policies
• FollowITIL frameworkfor managing incidents changes and problem resolution while you maintain detailed documentationfor inventory procedures and audit compliance requirements
• Provide expert recommendations onRed Hat Enterprise Linux configurationsfor optimized performance and security
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to enhanceautomation security and system efficiency
• Participate in anoncall rotation executing and validating changes during scheduled maintenance windows

What you will need to have:

• 6 yearsof Linux administration experience with a focus onRed Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 79
• 4 years of experience in Ansible Automation Platform including playbook development and infrastructure automation
• 4 years of experience with Red Hat IDM user authentication and rolebased access control
• 4 years of experience in scripting(Bash Python Perl) for system automation
• 4 years of Red Hat Satelliteexperience for lifecycle and patch management
• 2 years of experience with virtualization and cloud technologies such as VMware and Azure
• 2years of experience with network security & server hardeningconcepts (SELinux firewalls intrusion prevention)
• Bachelors degreein Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work/military experience.

What would be great to have:

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)orRed Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with a focus on automationdriven solutions
• Excellentwritten and verbal communicationskills to collaborate across teams
• Ability to handle highpressure situations while considering risk factors and efficiency
• Experience withhybrid cloud environments such as Red Hat OpenShift
