Job Description

Live Production Team 2025

The Live Production Team is responsible for supporting and facilitatinginperson rehearsals performances and recording sessions. Ensure facilities and equipment are prepared and available as needed. The team consists of several different roles which will be assigned based on each individuals strengths experiences and interests. In the prescreening questions of this application please select which roles you are most interested in.


Contracts are funded by the Government of Canada and offered at the Ontario minimum wage.

During the rehearsal period the live production team will be required to support a rehearsal schedule based in Barrie ON at our studio and at the local theatre. When you are not directly supporting a rehearsal you will be training through a variety of methods which typically involves job shadowing professional technical personnel completing online learning modalities and/or researching equipment. The location for training activity is in your project constituency. Some training will take place with our production team directly. Please note: Accommodations and transportation are your responsibility during the rehearsal period.

Tour Performances will take place in midJuly and August and will require you to travel for multiple days in southern Ontario. Bus/van transportation accommodations and meals are provided for all working days when we are out on a leg of the tour. We expect to fulfil three tour legs of 37 days.

Participants must be 18 years of age to work on the live production team.

Due to federal funding requirements for this position eligible applicants must:

  • Be 15 30 years of age on their first day of work

  • Be a Canadian citizen have permanent resident status or be protected under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

  • Be present in Canada while working

  • Hold a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

  • Be aware that not all positions are funded in all locations

Stage Manager/Assistant Stage Manager

Stage Managers provide indispensable practical and organizational support to directors performers designers and technical crew throughout the production and rehearsal process and supervise onstage and backstage activity during performances to make sure the show goes off without a hitch. They facilitate communication across all creative and technical departments; act as a right hand to the director; oversee sets props lights and sound; and call all technical cues during performancesand assisting with a variety of clerical duties.


Playback Engineer

Playback Engineer works in Ableton Live working with click cue and stem tracks for rehearsals and performances. Must have a high level of musicality and confidence.


Production Assistant

Production Assistants prepare schedules and budgets secure and set up equipment make travel arrangements relay messages between the crew and performers and other duties related to the broadcasting and production of technical rehearsals and performances.


Wardrobe Attendant

Wardrobe Attendants maintain and coordinate all wardrobe elements before during and after technical rehearsals and live events and assists cast as needed to facilitate high calibre performances.


A/V Technician

A/V Technicians provide expanded support for sound reinforcement lighting computer and audiovisual support as well as logistical and operational support to rehearsals and live events. Facilitate all the technical aspects and support required to mount the production onstage including the operation and maintenance of lighting sound and related equipment and systems used in support of stage productions and stage management.


Craft Services

Craft Services ensures food safety standards at all times backstage. Attention to detail for food temperatures and time is critical. If you are not already a certified food handler in the province of Ontario training and certification will be provided.


Personnel Manager

Personnel Manager is responsible for scheduling cast and approving the crew schedule. Using Master Tour Software they will provide both realtime updates and advances for all persons on the tour. Payroll approval will be completed daily to ensure processing is on schedule. This role is a representative of the Human Resources Team and is inperson at rehearsals and on the road.


Typical Work Hours

  • Typically 35 hours per week

  • Rotational coverage for evenings and weekends as scheduled

The Coop seeks individuals who enjoy collaboration creativity learning new skills and engaging with artists and the community. This position includes some evenings and weekends as scheduled.
