We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician on Night Shift.
Job Summary
The Maintenance Electrician is accountable to the Maintenance Supervisor for all activities involving the electrical operation maintenance and repair of production/manufacturing equipment as well as plant computerized building automation systems electrical systems and building equipment.

Troubleshoots maintains adjusts repairs all types of lowvoltage ( than 600V) electrical production /manufacturing equipment of various complexity and automation including PLCs servo drives and servo/ motion controllers encoders computerized production systems interlocked safety circuitry etc.Troubleshoots maintain adjust repair all types of lowvoltage ( than 600V) electrical building equipment and systems having complex interlocking or interrelated circuits (i.e. generators transformers switchgear controllers VFDs electronic circuits circuit breakers motors heating units conduit systems or other transmission equipment)Uses various test instruments to diagnose problems determine electrical load and power qualityTroubleshoots repairs maintains electropneumatic HVAC and process control systemsUpdates current electrical drawings for facility and production/manufacturing equipmentCoordinates completion of electrical equipment/machinery changes/modifications as a result of electrical safety authority or PreStartReview inspector recommendations.Coordinates and execute electrical Preventative Maintenance activities related to facility and production/manufacturing equipmentParticipates in the Maintenance Shutdown activities working independently or as part of a team on Maintenance assignments.Works with users other maintenance staff and vendors to provide electrical and automation expertise. Evaluate effectiveness of these systems in order to ensure that safe efficient and reliable operation of Septodont facilities and production/manufacturing equipment and for continuous improvementsArranges for contracted services as required and supervises all work on electrical and automation systemsRecognizes and/or anticipates problems and takes necessary actions and/or notifies responsible individuals to reduce impact on production schedulesAssures that all electrical and automation work is completed according to respective codesWrites evaluates and maintains electrical and automation Standard Operating Procedures as required to ensure compliance with cGMP guidelines established safety standards and company goalsSpearheads continuous improvement in the electrical systemsSupports the maintenance department in preventive maintenance of plant and production/manufacturing equipment. As well as emergency maintenance of plant and production/manufacturing equipment when scheduled to be oncallSupports the validation department in validation projectsSupports the Engineering department in completion of electrical work required for new equipment installation and commissioning.Observes and supports all safety guidelines and regulations.Demonstrates the Company Mission Vision and Values Statements policies and current standard business practices.Follows GMP and regulatory requirements and ensures quality standards are met.Performs other related duties asQualifications
Education
- Post secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is required.
- Must have an Ontario Industrial Electrician and/or Construction and Maintenance Electrical License
Experience
- Expert knowledge in maintaining electrical systems within a manufacturing environment including building and production/manufacturing systems
- Advanced knowledge in Allen Bradley Siemens PLCs servo/motion controllers VFDs considered an asset
- Understanding of electrical utility systems for facilities as well as production/manufacturing equipment including instrumentation and field control devices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical and control drawings / schematics
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with crossfunctional teams.
- Knowledge of GMP and other related regulations.
- Safety focused with knowledge of safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure under tight timeframes.
- Effective organizational time management and detailorientation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proven analytical trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
