Are you interested in becoming a key member of the departments Communications Office press team If so join us as a Deputy Communications Director 2 where you will provide vital support to the Press Secretary and Communications Director regarding management of media relations and internal communications while advancing the departments goals. In this position you will have the opportunity to utilize your extensive work experience to ensure timely accurate and effective messaging to both external audiences and department staff. As a Deputy Communications Director you will be responsible for supporting the Communications Director and Press Secretary by receiving monitoring and tracking media inquiries. Work involves gathering and verifying information as well as drafting detailed responses that align with department priorities and messaging. In the absence of the Press Secretary or Communications Director you will take on their roles of reviewing and editing media materials and providing strategic counsel. While collaborating with agency partners and statewide stakeholders you will have the abilityto plan coordinate and execute media events to support public outreach efforts through publications and informational materials. Strong communication skills will enable you to develop and coordinate public information campaigns that spotlight department programs and key initiatives.
