The Stead Family Childrens Department of Perioperative Services Pre/Postoperative care is seeking a Staff Nurse to Apply nursing theory to the assessment diagnosis treatment and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness assess patient health care preferences and expectations and collaboratively coordinate the continuum of care across settings.
Characteristic Duties of our Staff Nurses include but are not limited to:
Applies nursing theory to the assessment diagnosis treatment and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness
Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations
Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings
Develops patient care plan based on patient condition age and psychological educational and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes
Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response
Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan
Develops coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care
Implements nursing interventions according to department division and/or unit policies procedures and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients visitors and staff

The Department of Perioperative Services within the Stead Family Childrens Hospital is responsible for providing services for patients before during and after surgery. Our staff is committed to providing quality patient care compassionate service and exhibiting UIHC WECARE Core values in all we do. We are proud to be a part of Iowas only nationally ranked childrens hospital where we are committed to changing medicine and changing kids lives. The Pre/Postoperative primary working hours are Monday Friday from 6:00 AM 8:30 PM advertised positions will align with these hours unless otherwise stated. Pre/Postoperative staff are subject to extension of shift and an oncall rotation. Further explanation of extension of shift and oncall status will be available in the SNAHP Employee Manual
Percent of Time: 100%
Schedule: hours primarilyMonday through Friday with occasional night holiday and weekend call. There are options for 8 and 10hr shifts
Pay Grade: 52 to commensurate *this does not include an inpatient differential of $10000 or shift differentials
