Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Resource RN for our Surgical Short Stay Unit for a Full Time evening shift position in Charlottesville VA.
Hours are from 3p to 11p Monday to Friday.
$15000 Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates
Resource Nurse also known as the Admit/Discharge/Transition Registered Nurse (ADT RN) plays a critical role in ensuring efficient patient flow and continuity of care within Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. This position involves coordinating admissions discharges and transitions of care for patients as well as providing support and assistance to nursing staff in an inpatient setting. The ADT RN will monitor and manage transitions of care for patients moving between different care settings such as from hospital to home or skilled nursing facility. This role can be assigned to any inpatient unit within the hospital.
Wendell 2 Surgical Short Stay is a 24bed unit with a 1 to 5 ratio or 1:6 ratio. This unit is dedicated to short stay patients from Womens Health Ortho/Spine General Surgery and Bariatrics. These are all short stay populations with heavy discharge turnover. I. Wendell 2 has a longstanding leadership team dedicated to bestinclass patient care.

Education
Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Bachelor of Science Nursing BSN or MSN (Preferred)
Certifications

Experience
2 years of acute experience Preferred
Critical Care experience Preferred
Post Surgical experience preferred
1 year of patient admit and discharge experience preferred
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment diagnosis outcomes identification planning implementation coordination of care teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics culturally congruent practice communication collaboration leadership education evidence based practice /nursing research quality evaluation resource utilization and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
