Job Description
Title:
Project Accounting LeadJoin Our Team as a Project Accounting Lead at Defence Nuclear Technology Solutions (DNTS)!
Location
Leatherhead/Hybrid
Security Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance for this role which requires UK Nationality and 5year footprint living and working in the UK.
The Role
This role will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger ensuring compliance with regulations and preparing internal management financial reports. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise leadership experience and a strong understanding of the government contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance of accurate financial records and general ledger activity in compliance with regulatory standards of US & UK
Manage monthly quarterly and yearend close processes including journal entries reconciliations and financial reporting
Lead team of accounting professionals and manage oversight of team in Chennai; delegate tasks provide guidance
Analyse and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts; identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure internal financial reporting meets the needs of both business operations and corporate leadership
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors during annual audits and other compliance engagements
Support the development implementation and continuous improvement of accounting policies procedures and internal controls
Participate in crossfunctional projects and strategic initiatives to enhance accounting operations and financial transparency
What We Need
Excel Strong proficiency in financial data analysis and reporting
US GAAP expertise
Technical accounting mastery Deep knowledge of accounting principles and standards
SOX compliance experience Understanding of US audit requirements
Audit liaison skills Familiarity with both internal and external audit processes
Microsoft Dynamics proficiency Handson experience with financial systems
Global collaboration Ability to oversee and provide guidance to the Chennai team remotely
Leadership experience Prior supervisory roles or experience leading teams
Process improvement mindset Passion for optimizing and refining accounting workflows
