The opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for an earlycareer Actuarial professional to join one of Australias leading insurers in the role of Junior Actuarial Analystworking across short and longtail products within the NZ and Pacific portfolios. Join the dynamic Actuarial team at NZPAC where youll gain broad exposure to the full reserving process and develop a strong understanding of the frameworks that underpin actuarial reporting and regulatory obligations.
Your new role
Support the Senior Actuarial Manager to perform endtoend reserving work for various products
Perform monthly BAU tasks and other actuarial analysis as required
Be the goto person for data analysis and support to senior Actuarial professionals enabling the team to provide meaningful insights to the business
Continuously seek process improvement and be part of the QBE Actuarial modernisation journey
Be involved in the development of a new automated reserving model with the opportunity to apply and grow your technical skills in SQLand VBA.
About you
You have obtained a tertiary qualification in actuarial studies mathematics statistics or equivalent relevant disciplines.
A keen interest in expanding on your Actuarial knowledge and looking to take the next step in your career with a leading global insurer known for providing career development and progression opportunities.
You have exceptional problemsolving and analytical skills and an ability to generate outside of the box creative solutions rather than following precedence.
You will also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and can utilise these to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels across the business to influence best practice outcomes.
While not essential familiarity with SQL VBAand Pythonwould be advantageous
