Job Description
Location: Waxing the City Torrey Hills San Diego CA
Compensation: $20/hour DOE Parttime Independent Contractor
Waxing the City Torrey Hills is a premium body waxing studio opening soon in the heart of North County San Diego. Our mission is to help clients look and feel their best in a clean friendly and professional environment. Were seeking a dynamic and wellconnected local marketer to help build excitement and awareness before we open our doors.
We are looking for a parttime Community Marketing Specialist to lead preopening outreach efforts and generate memberships and buzz for our new studio. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing grassroots marketing strategies managing local partnerships and representing the Waxing the City brand at community events.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies that increase local awareness and drive preopening membership signups.
- Build partnerships with local mom groups fitness studios gyms salons schools and college campuses.
- Distribute promotional materials (flyers guest passes incentives) to target demographics.
- Organize and attend community events fairs and popups.
- Support digital marketing campaigns with community insights and influencer referrals.
- Create a calendar of outreach opportunities and track engagement metrics.
- Collaborate closely with the studio manager and ownership to align on brand messaging.
- Strong ties or access to local networks (moms groups fitness communities college groups etc.)
- Previous experience in event promotion street team campaigns influencer engagement or community relations.
- Outgoing personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation to visit community sites and events.
- Experience with Canva social media platforms or email tools is a plus.

- 1020 hours/week
- Duration: 46 weeks preopening with potential for extended work postlaunch
