Job Description

The new hire for this role MUST live in the Great Lakes Territory.

Responsibilities / Tasks

The Sales Engineer has the responsibility to promote and secure the sale of spare parts repairs field service equipment upgrades /modernizations and service level agreements for FHT NAM Service business. S/he is responsible for implementation of the groupwide sales strategy ensures a coordinated customer approach with counterparts in Customer Support Field Service and Engineering.

The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:

  • Work with the Service Sales Manager FHT NAM and other business areas to finetune and implement service sales strategy for area of responsibility.
  • Lead service sales activities for area of responsibility (territory) and prioritize initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for service sales.
  • Actively manage key customer accounts in the assigned territory. Act as the complete contact for the account
  • Travel to the customer for visits that shall include necessary presentations / demonstrations as required to enhance the sales opportunity and promote GEA
  • In addition verify and keep current the Ibase for that location
  • Be responsible for large project spare parts / repair orders / modernizations provide quotes follow up and ensure the sale is executed in a timely manner
  • Develop the correct sales contacts at each customer location
  • Participate in trade shows promoting equipment service sales activity along with new equipment sales
  • Provide market feedback (competition trends etc.) to the Director of Service Sales FHT NAM and regionally responsible service management
  • Utilize all available GEA resources to generate sales new equipment salespersons field service technicians customer support representatives procurement etc.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Communication requirements for the role:

  • Internal customers: Employees Service Sales Manager FHT NAM regionally responsible service management
  • External customers: customers industry associations consultants agents dealers
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills especially face to face meetings to convey convince and negotiate service sales.

Experience

  • Familiarity with concept of service offerings and local market requirements of different customer groups a plus.
  • Excellent communicator written and verbal able to work with individuals (internal and external) across a wide range of levels functions brands and cultures.
  • Capable of implementing strategic service sales plan.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of time; some international travel may be required.
  • The sales engineer MUST live in the Great Lakes territory.

Company vehicle and credit card provided

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $110000 $125000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors including skill set experience location qualifications and other jobrelated reasons. You may be eligible for additional rewards such as discretionary bonus (based on eligibility) and/or equity awards.
