The School District
Located along the CanadaUS border halfway between Vancouver and Calgary School District No. 20 (KootenayColumbia). The district acknowledges the land along the slopes of the picturesque Monashee and Selkirk Mountains and the valleys of the Lower Columbia River Basin where we live and the First Nations who have been stewards of this land for time immemorial. We also acknowledge the many Mtis and Inuit Peoples who are also guests on these lands. The District and its communities passionately value and are committed to public education. School District No. 20 (KootenayColumbia) is creating a Principal/VicePrincipal pool for future vacancies at both the elementary and secondary level. Successful internal and external applicants will remain in the pool until July 2027.
NOTE: Internal applicants who are accepted into the pool will become part of the School Leaders Development Program (SLDP).
You are a lifelong learner and an innovative educational leader. Your previous experience demonstrates your unwavering commitment to students and building an inclusive learning community. You are ready to work and contribute as part of a leadership team to champion exemplary instructional practices. You support creating and maintaining a safe and caring school culture along with an environment of best practice instructional excellence in service of our students and communities. Your ability to build positive relationships is evident and your welldeveloped sense of organization problem solving and conflict resolution skills work along with your ability to manage time and administrative tasks efficiently in supporting the school community. You value the input of all community partners and stakeholders and communicate in an open and transparently. You leverage technology to support both learning and administrative activities.
A Masters Degree in Education (or equivalent) or the commitment to complete a Masters Degree in Education within an agreed timeframe is required. You must hold or qualify for a valid B.C. Professional Teaching Certificate. Additionally you have a successful portfolio of experiences gained through working in a variety of elementary and/or secondary schools and foster inclusive practices.
The annual salary range for this position is $130806 $166002 dependent upon position and experience. A competitive benefits package is also be offered.
