The Mayo Clinic Airplane Pilot provides Part 135 flight services associated with medical transport that originates from the Rochester MN airport. At times aviation and medical services are also provided to and from the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville FL and Phoenix AZ clinic campuses. Employees are expected to follow the Mayo Clinic Culture of Safety by modeling five safety behaviors which include: attention to detail communicating clearly having a questioning and receptive attitude handoff effectively and supporting each other with the ultimate goal of placing the needs of our patients first by ensuring aviation safety. Pilots will actively participate in the management of the company Safety Management System (SMS) as well as participate in required simulation training events. All pilots will perform additional tasks as necessary to support General Operations Manual Standard Operating Procedures CAMTS (The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems) ISBAO (International Standards for Business Aircraft Operations) policies and accreditation standards. The Pilots weight must not exceed 250 pounds/114 kilograms and all pilot candidates must have had an FAA Class One medical exam within the preceding 12 months of the interview. Subsequent FAA medical examinations must be an FAA Class One category issued from the Mayo Clinic Division of Preventive Occupational and Aerospace Medicine. The position is a 0.9 FTE/36 hours per week with every other weekend coverage day and night 12 hour shifts to include scheduled shifts at a nonprimary base (Jacksonville Phoenix or as growth dictates). This position is an FAA safety sensitive position.
Current FAA ATP Fixed Wing Rating. Airplane MultiEngine Instrument Rating. 2500 total Airplane Flight Hours. 2000 total Airplane PIC Hours. 1000 total Turbine Hours. 700 hours of multiengine airplane flight time. 200 Airplane Night Flight Hours as a Pilotin Command. 200 Hours Actual Weather the following: jet and turboprop experience; currency in airplane category and class at time of application; air medical experience; a fouryear degree. This is a FAA safety sensitive position that requires passing a Federal level background FAA Class I Medical Certificate issued within the last 12 months.
