Job Description
Do you want to get a foot is the door in radio Are you ready to improve your skills in content creation Do you have a passion for sports This could be the perfect opportunity! Zimmer Communications in Columbia/Jefferson City MO is looking for enthusiastic creative and selfmotivated parttime producers for our cluster of stations including KTGR KFAL and KWOS. This is an entry level hourly position with growth potential.
WHATS THE JOB LIKE
Your main duties will involve running the instudio control board for local sports broadcasts on our radio stations where you will be in direct communication with the onair announcers. In addition you will be creating game highlight audio to be used for later broadcasts. Youll also be trained in audio and written content creation. This includes writing for websites and social media creating podcasts and creation of social media content to help grow our various platforms. Areas of growth including assisting in the production of news and talk shows and assisting as an air talent for sporting events. For the right applicant there may be an option to assist music stations in voice tracking filling in for onair shifts and other programming as needed
Qualifications
- Night and weekend availability
- Demonstrate aptitude and attitude to work in a fast and accurate manner capable of thriving in deadlinedriven situations
- Able to multitask problem solve and handle interruptions
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with organizational ability
- Possess basic computer and software skills and have basic knowledge of social media platforms and have capacity to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to work with other departments to drive success of the station/company
- Experience with social media posting on a variety of platforms
- High School education or equivalent
- Experience with radio production is preferred though we are willing to train the right person with the right attitude
