About the Role
As the first dedicated fulltime engineer focused on AI you will build a reusable AI toolbox for the engineering team assist in implementing the first significant AI feature in the core system centralize AI development knowledge/practices and establish monitoring. This role aims to lay the groundwork for our upcoming AI Squad.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Establish Foundational AI: Build the initial reusable AI infrastructure (AI foundation module / AI toolbox) within the core backend system. It should be extended for other nonplatform usages for the company in the longer run.
- Pioneer Core AI Feature: Deliver the first AIpowered feature integrated directly into the main insurance platform demonstrating practical value beyond existing peripheral AI tools.
- Centralize AI Efforts: Serve as the focal point for engineeringled AI initiatives improving visibility standardizing approaches and setting the stage for a dedicated AI team.
Your key deliverables include:
Within first 3 months:
- Deliver a functional AI toolbox providing foundational AI capabilities for the company particularly the insurance core system that could include a centralized RAG Engine and a multiLLM provider setup
- Successfully contribute to the launch of a first AIdriven feature within a platform squads domain in the core insurance system.
Ongoing:
- Develop and maintain dashboards and monitoring systems to track the performance and impact of AI initiatives.
- Design and implement robust data ETL pipelines for maintaining and updating the knowledge base used by AI systems ensuring sustained quality.

- Have a minimum 2 years of experience in backend or internal systems development.
- Proven track record to work effectively in a hybrid/remote setting.
- Proficiency in Python OR JavaScript/TypeScript; knowledge in the django ORM framework is plus.
- Good understanding on Generative AIs and their SDKs including their underlying principles beyond surfacelevel application.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience using project management/collaboration tools like Jira Trello Slack.
