This is a newly created role and you will be setting the foundation for (and possibly leading) our BI/ data team moving forward!
About the Role
You will be working in a fastpaced organization that promotes crossfunctional
collaboration.
On a daily basis you will collaborate handson with backend engineers and business users to architect and maintain a secure selfservice BI solution including data warehouses dashboards and various reporting systems and produce analysis for internal business users
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Data handling and Data warehousing
- understand user stories and insurance operation workflows and model raw ingested data into businessuserfriendly entities
- ingest and consolidate data from various sources including multiple thirdparty sources and our application database into a single source of truth
- design technical strategies and infrastructure to facilitate selfservice business intelligence including strategies to deploy data warehouse changes with CI/CD pipelines
- design dashboards for business users to monitor trends and patterns
Reporting
- prepare automated reports for strategic projects and regulatory reporting
- prepare ad hoc reports for business users and if appropriate turn ad hoc reports into BAU reports/ include them as part of the dashboards
- assist teams to scale existing reporting workflows with validations enforced
Data Analysis & Insights
- assist business users to obtain insights and facilitate decisionmaking
- provide user training and assists product managers and other business users to perform adhoc analysis
Roughly the composition of your task will be as follows:
- Discussion with business users
- Generating and streamlining reports for business users
- Data modelling
- Maintaining our data warehouse and pipeline
The success of this role will be measured by:
- creating dashboards and reports that enable business users to make informed decisions
- selfserviceability of the dashboard and reports produced
- accuracy and efficiency in the data handling process
About you
We are looking for a smart curious and problemsolver with the following skills and qualifications
- proficient Data Modelling techniques using SQL
- proficient Eager to work closely with both engineering team and business users listen to user stories and consolidate business requirements
- fair Experience in popular data tools and frameworks e.g. Airflow dbt
- fair Experience in using data visualization/ BI tools e.g. Looker Mixpanel Tableau Power BI
- fair Simple scripting with Python
- fair Excel for data transformation including but not limited to using pivot tables and Power Query
- fair Highlevel knowledge in cloudbased infrastructure and services
