Position will be 2 days(MonTues) remote and 3days onsite at the location listed above. Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY.
I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires the services of 1 Software Engineer 3 hereafter referred to as Candidate(s) who meets the general qualifications of Software Engineer 3 Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

Texas Health and Human Services is seeking a talented and passionate FullStack Developer with experience in Java to join our dynamic engineering team. You will play a key role in building and maintaining innovative web applications and services. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle from frontend user interfaces to backend APIs and data management. This is a handson role that will provide technical direction to team members in addition to their own development tasks. A successful candidate will have handson experience programming FullStack ReactJS applications on enterprise platforms and cloudbased technologies. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders product managers and other engineers to deliver highquality scalable and maintainable solutions.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/ Preferred Experience 8 Required Experience in Java/J2EE Enterprise Development (Core Java JDBC Spring Boot and Angular for example). 8 Required Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE. 8 Required Experience working with databases (both relational and NoSQL) such as PostgreSQL MySQL MongoDB etc. 8 Required Experience with Webbased user interface development using ReactJS. 8 Required Demonstrable experience developing backend applications and RESTful APIs using Java. 8 Required Experience designing enterprise applications and/or services. 8 Required Experience creating technical and functional design documentation. 8 Required Experience as a FullStack Developer with a strong focus on development. 5 Preferred Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure. 4 Preferred Experience working in an Agile development environment. 4 Preferred Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. 4 Preferred Experience with CI/CD pipelines. 4 Preferred Knowledge of serverside rendering (SSR) or static site generation (SSG) with React. 4 Preferred Experience with GraphQL. 4 Preferred Understanding of security best practices for web applications. 3 Preferred Experience in building supporting maintaining and monitoring mission critical business applications/systems running in highly distributed environments. 2 Preferred Experience with Cosmos. 2 Preferred Experience with Elastic Search.
